About Jane Platts
With a BA (HONS) in Applied Arts, I’d predominately describe myself as a Textile Artist.
But I often introduce line drawing and watercolour painting to create mixed media creations that are regularly exhibited at the Lanzarote Art Festival.
As a result of those exhibitions, I now regularly journey to Lanzarote to deliver workshops and this in turn has inspired the use of colour in my work.
My inspiration often comes from the world around me and reflects my personal experiences, cultural influences, and the ever-changing dynamics of society.

Black Box Yorkshire Studio
The process of transforming an old green ticket office into a bespoke Yorkshire Art Studio began in September 2022.
The transformation of this old disused portacabin gave West Yorkshire based artist Jane Platts a studio base and a space from which to run workshops and art classes.
