About Jane Platts
With a BA (HONS) in Applied Arts, I’d predominately describe myself as a Textile Artist.
But I often introduce line drawing, watercolour/acrylic painting to create mixed media & textile creations that are regularly exhibited around the UK, also in Howdens annual art weekend, have attended Lanzarote’s Art Festival 4 times since 2019.
As a result of those exhibitions, I now regularly journey to Lanzarote to deliver workshops and this in turn has inspired the use of colour in my work.
I am now part of Dewsbury Creatives based in my home town of Dewsbury selling handmade creative designs and my art work.
My inspiration often comes from the world around me and reflects my personal experiences, florals, nature and cultural influences.

Black Box Yorkshire Studio
The process of transforming an old green ticket office into a bespoke Yorkshire Art Studio began in September 2022.
The transformation of this old disused portacabin gave West Yorkshire based artist Jane Platts a studio base and a space from which to run workshops and art classes.
